Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess – February 2026

The January lambers are all done now. There are four girls and six boys. The second lot are due to lamb in April. I have kept two ram lambs entire to see what they turn out like. The older lambs have been outside for the first time since the weather has gotten better and the new born lambs are still inside for a while until they are big enough.

The weather has been very harsh on the other sheep but hopefully Spring is around the corner. They get a bale of hay most days to keep them going.

I have decided to name the lambs after Disney characters this year, so trying to match their personalities with the names. Currently we have Dumbo which definitely becoming a favourite! The lambs are still inside at night so I can keep an eye on them. At the end of the month the show sheep will be sheared and the April lambers will come to the lambing field. So hopefully so more lambs to come.
