Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess – October 2026
Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess- October 2026
September has been a busy month.
All the sheep have been marked by the tups. A few stragglers are now with the new ram Arioso to cover any that have been remarked. The rams and ram lambs are now all together after a few days bonding in a tight space. Arioso will join them next week and they shall go through the same process as they can injure each other if not bonded well enough. Then once they are all friends again they shall move down to their winter field.
The ewes are getting moved to the other end of the village for the upcoming bonfires displays. That way the heavily pregnant ewes can have less stress. Hopefully we have a sheep scanner coming early next month to see how many lambs and how many ewes have taken. This helps to work out which ewes are lambing when. The pregnant ewes will then come to the field near home a month before they are due and I will soon be setting everything up for lambing.
