‘Take a Moment ‘ March

Since I last spoke to you the world feels a very different place doesn’t it.

Our world feels like a boiling pot constantly boiling over……….

Troubles abroad and at home remind us of our of human frailty and the need for us to show wisdom and courage in these troubled times, to be a more prayerful people holding all our concerns before God as we listen to events on our Televisions and social media, whether for the fear of war escalating, or our lack in faith in those who we look up to and place in positions of leadership.

 We cannot but be concerned and yes disappointed and despondent feeling, where is it all to end. You can understand peoples need to express their feelings, even their need of support and someone to talk to, especially those who we know who are already feeling concerned by our own countries problems.

All these things, which when people are suffering already from worry about their business or family concerns as well as the cost of living and making ends meet it can all feel too much.

Lent is a time of turning once again to God and this seems even more important now .It may be that all we can do is watch and pray for peace, for an end to this present crises, and that of Ukraine. Let’s pray for our Towns and Cities where there is ill feeling and resentment with their neighbours. ‘Peace begins with us’ let’s make sure we live peaceably with everyone around us and with ourselves

Spring is bursting through the dark days of winter showing us how nature regenerates itself, as Christians we too will be able to do the same if we are determined, by holding to faith in our God who, does not remove all problems in our life, but does promises to be with us and walk with us through them.

 Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ reminds us of a new hope and the chance to experience a confidence in someone who we can depend on. It involves us wanting this new relationship by opening our hearts to receive the love he has for each one of us. We need never be lonely, and never alone with our worries and fears, our help is just a prayer away.

 All we need to do is quietly ask for him to come into our lives and begin to see his effect for good in our lives, in nature around us , how it confidently  bursts into life, in all the kind people around us and all that is that is good and positive despite these troubled times.

Christ concurred evil on the cross, evil will not have the last say.
