‘Take a Moment’ – August 2025
I did like the Poem last month written by Christopher Sanderson and It has perfectly described where we are with our church roof and now with the roof covering and lattes in place and the tiles now arrived, hopefully the next phase will soon begin.
So many amazing people have supported the Parish Church here at Revesby. It has been a long journey especially for the Church family and in particular Mrs Christine Firth and Cheryl Steel who have been crucial is organising the works and obtaining grants, filling in piles and piles of paperwork. But, hopefully, the end is in sight.
Not so with our coffee mornings, they will be continuing each month by the amazing effort and dedication of Mrs Ann Hoyes, Church Warden at Revesby and her dedicated team, whose amazing cakes bring us, (50-60 of us) back each month in anticipation. The hard work for us is deciding which cake to buy! (Were not worried about our waist lines on the first Monday of the month!)
The Coffee mornings have become so important to community life for the local area, much enjoyed and looked forward to as a place to meet friends and make new ones and the generous raffle all kindly donated each month means lots of us go home with a lovely raffle prize.
We are hoping, when all the work is completed on our church roof, to have a special thanks giving service, which you are all invited to, to celebrate and give thanks for all who have helped it happen, for community spirit and determination, and the answered prayers that has meant, what seemed impossible at the beginning, has become possible. We will let you know when we have a date.
Also if it is possible we will be open for ‘Open Churches weekend’ on the 13th September with stalls and refreshments as we do each year. We are thinking we may be able to set up outside if the weather is kind. We will let you know.

SERVICES AT ST LAWRENCES ARE STILL BEING HELD ON THE SECOND SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 9.15 AND 10.45 ON THE 4TH OF THE MONTH. COME AND JOIN BE ASSURED OF A WARM WELCOME.

1st September Church Coffee Morning Revesby village hall 10.00-12.00
13TH September Open churches weekend. Many churches in the area will be open with displays and some with refreshments why not go and have a look.
