Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess – January 2026
Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess β January 2026
Lambing has begun! Over the new year I have had a few sheep lamb. I ended up with more than expected with two set of triplets and one big single. I made the decision to keep the extra lambs on the ewes and to supplement them with bottle feeding as ewes can only look after a couple of lambs normally. They are all doing well and are growing by the day. I also had big ram lamb called dumbo. Heβs probably the biggest lamb I have ever had. I still have two ewes to lamb in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully they will stick to having two lambs. Then the rest will lamb in April. The rest of the sheep are braving it in the snow and rain. Luckily they have hay feeder topped up everyday so they are on ab-lib hay. Looking forward to some drier warm weather as the days are starting to get longer.
