Take a Moment- January 2026
‘Take a Moment’ January 2026
Hope you are all managing to keep warm, we really have had a cold spell. I’m writing this letter looking out of the window, the frost has lingered all day and the sky a very pale grey. BUT the birds have been happily singing away the last couple of days so they are looking forward to better days ahead!.
I hope you have all enjoyed Christmas and seen family or friends and made some new memories to bring a smile to this often dreary month of January.
This Christmas, the Churches of the fen and hill group have been at the centre of our village’s celebrations. We welcomed over 380 people across the group as they have come along for our special Christmas services and certainly for me, have given me some special memories to cheer the days. This is a wonderful reflection of what Christmas still means to those who live in our communities and I thank you for celebrating not just Christmas but community with us.
Thankyou everyone who have worked hard to decorate our church here at Revesby and provided some Christmas treats after the services. Our tree outside, kindly as previous years was donated by the Estate, lighting the way for our services. We look forward now the year ahead.
As we step into New Year, unsure of what it may hold for us, or for our world, so not at peace, with each other, we have that promise of Christ’s presence with us through all things.
We must remember that peace begins with us and if we all do our bit to be peaceable, helpful and kind to those around us we can make a difference to someone day and like a ripple on a pond the wave will grow. Let’s make this a new year’s resolution.
Whatever the year brings us, let us hold onto ‘Christ the light of the world’., Whenever we feel the darkness or we feel alone, we need never to think we have nowhere to go with our troubles, doubts and worries, Jesus Christ our saviour is only a prayer away and will, if we seek him in our hearts, will help transform these feeling with love, hope and assurance.
In this New Year slowly revealing itself, I send my Prayers and best wishes to you and yours. Every year holds special times and I hope you all will have plenty of them.
