Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess – August 2025
Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess
13th August
With the show season finished. A lot of planning and moving sheep into the correct fields happens as tupping season is now in full swing. Monty is hopefully going to loose some weight and Merlot is enjoying his lady friends. Some of the older ewes are having some respite with the lambs. Fat boy was rather lucky and is staying as a companion for Barnaby. He’s been enjoying his freedom bouncing round the field with the other lambs. Two of last year’s shearlings will be off to Louth next week and I might enter some lambs into the pedigree sale. All of the ewes have been covered so far so keeping my fingers crossed they don’t get remarked. The preparation starts again now for lambing. I have also entered the national flock competition where a Welsh judge will come and judge the whole flock at Revesby in September.
