Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess – April 2025
Diary of a Revesby Shepherdess
Shearing has started, most of show team is sheared ready for the shows. I shall be moving the show sheep to their paddock ready for some halter training and trimming. The lambs are going on well and the ewes are looking good.
The next job is to vaccinate the lambs for blue tongue and mineral drench them. The first show will be Newark show so we haven’t got long till we will be back out.
It will be an unknown season depending on how blue tongue progresses later in the year, but hopefully we can have a good year staying more locally this year till we see how things develop. My priority is to keep them safe and healthy so I shall do my best to protect from it. I plan to wean them slightly later this year to see if that brings my lambs on more.
So very much looking forward to this year ahead!
Sophie, The Revesby Shepherdess.
