Revesby Farms Cereal Crop
The Estate farms 1220 hectares of land in hand. This goes under the name of Revesby Farms and is managed closely between the Wiggins-Davies family and Farm Manager Chris Baylis.
Cereal crop production is predominately based upon first and second wheat's, oil seed rape and spring malting barley.
Cereal varieties are chosen on their merit in terms of marketability, vigour of growth, resistance to disease and yield performance.
Marketing of produce is an important part of our business strategy, as with any business, and specific varieties are grown for pre determined markets.
This can range from a quality milling wheat variety suitable for bread making, to malting barley suitable for the brewery and distilling industry to a base feed wheat variety used within animal feeds.
We also capitalise from the local ports surrounding the Wash and the river Humber with growing varieties also suitable for exporting.
